Michael Schulman, Staff Writer for The New Yorker, joins us to discuss his book Oscar Wars: A History of Hollywood in Gold, Sweat, and Tears, a look at the history and behind-the-scenes drama of the Academy Awards.

Schulman also shares his thoughts on memorable and shocking moments of the Oscars, the recent “Oscar slap” that took place during last year’s ceremony, and what it was like to witness that moment as an audience member.

Then, we talk with Rebecca Sun, Senior Editor of Diversity and Inclusion at The Hollywood Reporter, about her thoughts on the representation of this year’s nominees and the Academy’s changing inclusion standards.

Also, joining the conversation is Nate Jones, Senior Writer for Vulture.com, who, along with Sun, shares his personal picks and predictions on who could take home the gold statue during the big night.
