Welcome to Episode Eleven with George Pietrogallo
(George’s Dad Stats: Son - 33, Daughter - 31)
My first interaction with George was the night before a client workshop in Detroit, Michigan, last year. We found a sports bar near the hotel and bellied up to the bar for some dinner and then engaged with a few locals in small talk about local sports, family, politics, business, and life. It was as though we were on the set of Cheers just making friends with everyone, and yapping with the bartender. I was amazed at the gift of gab that George possessed and his ability to connect with everyone there.
And it’s no surprise George could weave a tale, as he’s had a multifaceted career that spanned several decades and industries. He began his professional journey in the media, working as a journalist for about 27 years, primarily in television. During his tenure in journalism, George was recognized as an award-winning journalist and enjoyed the dynamic nature of covering various stories and topics, which provided him with a broad and enriching perspective on different aspects of life and society. After his career in media, George transitioned to public and government affairs where he worked for a large energy company in a role that utilized his skills in communication and public engagement. His work in this sector allowed him to continue influencing and interacting with a wide range of issues and people, albeit from a different standpoint than his journalistic days. This combination of experiences in fast-paced environments honed his abilities in leadership and communication, skills he later applied to his roles as a coach and facilitator in these areas.
George is a great mentor and friend and you will enjoy his guiding principles on fatherhood!
