Welcome to Episode Seven with Wylie Nelson

(Wylie’s Dad Stats: Two Kiddos, Ages Seven and Five )
I’ve known Wylie and his wife since the early days of being “grown ups” in our twenties when weekends in Denver were spent running around Wash Park, or racing up to the then-mostly-uncrowded slopes of the mountains. On any weeknight, you might find us riding bikes to neighborhood bars despite our next-day-full-time-job obligations. We’ve traveled to Mexico together to watch friends get married, and we’ve been able to watch each other grow up and take on great careers.
In the mid-2000s, Wylie and I, along with a few others, produced an annual charity fundraiser for breast cancer called Slide-for-a-Cure, which involved a couple hundred of us enjoying an adult-size slip-n’-slide, and piles of catering from Qdoba. #youngphilanthropists
Wylie studied mechanical engineering in his undergrad, and then doubled down to get a law degree and an MBA, which led him into telecom. He now finds himself on a team focused on reinventing infrastructure to support the country’s energy transition and the digital demands of our modern world.
If you ever get the chance to catch a few runs with him, Wylie will tell you he’s the best skier on the mountain, and he may be, but he for sure is a wonderfully humble dad to his kids and you’ll see that show up on this interview.
