Welcome to Episode Eight with Dan Gomer
(Dan’s Dad Stats: Two Kiddos, Ages 13 and 10 )
Dan once cooked me and a friend a gourmet breakfast in the middle of central Colorado, with a massive camping griddle, at the foot these magical granite hills which perched up to the east of us, and which provided a westerly gaze out towards Hartzel, Co. Later that eve, that very vantage point proved to be one of the most memorable sunset experiences we could ask for. As the evening approached, the skies to the north dropped down a slow lumbering lightning storm that moved in the opposite direction of the sun’s trajectory. The sky was aglow in sunset and lightning and vivid colors changed from moment to movement. It was an absolute stunner.
See, Dan Gomer did that. He didn’t control the skies so much, but he brought together the right ingredients - a gathering, of people, in an epic spot - and then that happened. That’s my sense of Dan. He’s a collector of visionaries and business builders. He brings people together, in the right ways, and then amazing things can happen. That’s one of Dan’s gifts as a coach, and mentor, and a successful team leader in the real estate industry.
You’ll find some amazing insight in Dan’s experience as an eighth grade teacher, and how he parlayed that role into some dos and don'ts when he embarked on fatherhood. Dan is a true contemporary of mine, and we’ve sat down and shared our philosophies on business, brand building, leadership, coaching, elk hunting, and now fatherhood. Here are 10 big themes that we explore on Episode Eight of WHOA DAD!
