FROM UPSETTING NUNS TO POLICE ESCORTS
Who's that girl welcomes its very first guest.... Barbara Nodwell (Noddy)
Women's football wasn't just built on pitches - it was formed by 'rebels'
If you think modern football is intense, you haven't heard the stories of the women who quite literally had to fight just to kick a ball. A time shortly after the FA lifted the ban which denied women access to pitches - they had to force their way onto it.
This week we are joined by a true pioneer of the women's game who takes us back to the 70's and 80's - a time when playing the game she loved meant breaking every rule in the book...And escaping with a Police escort after being trapped in a sports hall!!
Of course we will also be sharing some of the messages from listeners kind enough to share their stories and memories with us.
And don't forget Every story is worth sharing, send in YOURS

“Who’s that girl?” was the question Baz heard from the sidelines. Now it’s the name of a podcast hosted by Baz McQuiggan and Louise Ryde two retired football players, making sure women’s football stories aren’t forgotten.
Played back in the day? Send us your story by DM or email—you don’t have to come on the podcast. We’d love to hear from players, teammates, supporters, and anyone who’s been part of the game.
In our first episode, Baz and Louise look back on decades of women’s football: muddy pitches, oversized kits, big wins, and the people who built the game before today’s spotlight.Because every player has a story worth remembering—whether you scored the winner, came off the bench, or helped your team behind the scenes.Who’s that girl? It could be you.#WhosThatGirlPodcast #WomensFootball #WomensFootballHistory #GrassrootsFootball

Hosted by Joy (Baz) McQuiggan who amongst a host of other footballing achievements scored the winning goal in Leasowe Pacific's 3-2 win over Friends of Fulham in the WFA Cup final of 1989 at Manchester UTD's Old Trafford. She has recently been recognised for her outstanding contribution and longevity in the Everton Hall of Fame, something she is immensely proud about. Even though she would have to be pushed to let on to anyone.
Louise Ryde, is also an ex player, who turned out for the famous Doncaster Belles team that dominated the women's game throughout the late 80's and 90's, finally moving across the country to play for Everton and Liverpool.
Both are on a mission to give the recognition deserved to the founders of women's football
