Generally, a great serial is followed by a terrible serial, which is followed by a middling serial of passable quality. That’s why, after Earthshock, nobody was surprised to see that Time-Flight was kind of pants. However, expecting Arc of Infinity to be a middle-of-the-road kind of episode that would leave no lasting impressions was a big mistake! It quickly soared into the top-15 list of serials ever covered on this show!
