Relationships!  Opening up to others.  Are we able to really be ourselves to others?  How vulnerable and transparent are we?  Perhaps we aren't, because we don't see ourselves well.  How we relate to others is dependant on how we see ourselves, and sometimes also on how others see us.  The same goes for our relationship with God.
