The phrase “Who is your daddy?” is a contemporaryinterpretation of Jesus questioning the religious leaders of his day. Because they thought Abraham was our father, as a legacy and mark of superiority. Jesus couldn't let this one go. His mission to set the captives free included everyone,even religious people. He had no other option but to refute. The argument escalates in a robust exchange where Jesus declares his divine nature with the statement, “I assure you: Before Abraham was, I am.” The pursuit of authentic faith, opposing false hope, and recognising alone. Jesus is the one who can set you free indeed.
