14          I'm not a super fan of the color pink, but my wife is and so are my daughters. But I am a fan of the colored pink when I get a Valentine's card from my wife. There's something about being lived by that girl. She's my hero. She's my homecoming queen and she's my love. But you know what? She's not my first love. Let me read you about my first love and let me read you why he's my first live and hopefully he'll be your first love. I mean, Revelation chapter two. John is speaking in a vision that was given to him by the angel who was sent from God. And John is speaking to the church and Ephasus here. Um, and he says this, "but I have this against you that you have lift your first love. Remember therefore from when you have fallen and repent and do the deeds that you did at first or else I'm coming to you and remove your lamp stand out of its place unless you repent."

13          The book of Revelation in the very first part in chapter two and chapter three is a letter to the churches, the seven churches of Asia. But the finger doesn't point to them. When I read it, the finger points directly to me and I remember one of the first times that this verse landed on my heart and I had to look in the mirror and ask the question, "Joe, is Jesus really your first love?" You know, I love ice cream and I love apple pie and I love hot fudge Sundaes and I love my Debbie Joe and I love hunting and I love fishing and I love my grandkids and I love my children, but Jesus is talking about a love that supersedes all of that by any measurable distance. You know, in chapter two and three, there's a pattern when he talks to the churches and I wrote some notes, so I want for get any of it.

02          First of all, he tells them what they're doing right. And he tells me the same. Then he tells them what they're doing wrong and then he gives them instructions on how to live and then he warns them about the way they're not living. And that's what this verse is today. It's a warning. You've left your first love. But then he gives them a promise and he gives them a promise to the ones who overcome. And then he says, let him who has ears listen. Let him have an ear. Today, He's saying to me and he's saying to you, "who is really your first love?" And you know what's really neat about when Jesus becomes a person's first love, when his live exceeds every other love in your life, it's amazing how differently you treat your wife or your husband or your kids or your parents.

49          It's amazingly how differently you treat your body. It's amazing how differently you come to this book. When he's your first love. it's the most important book in the world. The stuff on your ipod's different. The stuff on your TV set and the movies you watch is different. The way you talk is different. Everything about you. Your smile is different. Your attitude's different. When you have issues and problems in your life, it's different because when he's your first love, everything changes. I get to watch people that I really believe that Jesus is their first love. You know, one of my favorites over the last few years was a crusade we did in Florida at the University of Florida. As we traveled the country and go from university campus to university campus, this one was with 5,000 gators and Timmy Tebow was teaming up with me that night to do that event and I look in the eyes of a man who I believe is a college student.

41          He was his first love. Jesus was, it wasn't football. I said, Timmy, what's your goal in life? He said, I want to make as much money as I can, give it away any missionaries, and then he said, I want to tell as many people as I can about Jesus, and he said, if the national football league is the place to do that, then I'm going to play at the NFL. But he said, if there's a better place to do that, then I'm going to go do something else with my life. Isn't it fun to watch people or like me to be married to people like Debbie Jo, to whom Jesus is their first love. Well, I'll tell you what, man, when he becomes, you know, more important than any Valentine card and he becomes more important than any relationship when he becomes more important than any, you know, little tool of Satan take you away from blaming him than, he'll change your life. And I believe with all my heart, he'll give you more joy in your heart than you could possibly contain. So the one question that I want to ask you today is, who is your first love and how are you going to show that love to him today?
