One of the most controversial passages from 1st Corinthians (14:33b-40) was discussed this week, concerning the status of women in the church and how this passage has often been used to dismiss and demean female identifying people. Kayden’s question this week was “Can you discuss the role of women in the church from the past to the present?’, leading us into a detailed conversation about women in the life of the church, scriptural interpretation and the value of femininity within contemporary mainline protestantism.
