The publisher of the New York Times and Donald Trump are engaged in a public battle after the president accused the paper (and other publications) of putting lives at risk through ‘irresponsible reporting’.
The publisher, A.G Sulzberger met with the president privately to discuss the concerns around continued threats against journalists. (Sulzberger was under the impression the meeting was private, but Trump then tweeted about it..). So why is a free press so important in the era in which we live?
