There are over 50,000 religions in our world today. Over 45,000 of those claim Christianity. When I read Scripture I read of one church, the church Christ purchased with His blood (Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 4:4-6, Acts 2:47, Romans 16:16.) It is important to find a congregation that teach and preach the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27.) Many though do not practice what the first century church practiced and/or teach Scripture properly. Many preach indoctrination because it makes people feel good, and it keeps people in the pews. Many have discarded what the Scriptures command us to preach and practice because of feelings, family members, money, fame, etc... It is important to study for ourselves, 2 Timothy 2:15, so we can be aware of when something is being taught that is wrong and when something is being practiced that is contrary to Scripture.
