(2) The word “Genesis” is a Greek word, signifying origin or beginning.
(3) Jesus’ view of marriage: one man with one woman, becoming one flesh, for one lifetime.
(4) Inherent in the 2 verses, Genesis 1:28 and 2:24, is the conclusion that the proper place for sex is between a male and a female in marriage.
(5) The structure of Genesis 1 is that there are 30 verses that speak about the physical events of creation and only one verse that speaks about spiritual events (1:26).
(6) But chapter 2 reverses the structure from that of Genesis 1. In Genesis 2:4-25 most of the verses are speaking about creation from a spiritual perspective rather than from a physical perspective.
