Why Are Women Getting Harassed For Wearing Abayas?

We’re talking about this because it’s happening right now, in different parts of Nigeria. I started noticing the discussion on social media about 3 weeks ago. Apparently, men of different ages are accosting abaya-wearing women in public.

They’re claiming that it’s not a decent way for a Muslim women to dress. She’s too exposed apparently. And these women are subjected to all kinds of assault: from heckling, to insults, to physical assault.
