RAISE To Be Good

Why are you running out of MOTIVATION

Listen Later

Episode 38!

I know the school season is back for a couple of months now and one of the biggest questions that students ask on the internet is "How can I have more motivation to study?" Well, first you have to look at what is motivation in the first place. The ideology of motivation has changed with the emergence of motivational speakers and social media, but with especially the conditions in school and college. Motivation has a completely different meaning.
Motivation is now the fuel to our engine which drives our lives into doing something that either we don't wanna do but have to do, or the fuel to drive our productivity engine that seems to be always running out.
There mainly two problems with people and especially students relying on that notion of motivation. Motivation, as amazing as it sounds, is a drug. Its addictive, compelling, and a very short-term solution to your long-term problems. The moment you feel out of motivation by doing the same thing over and over again is the moment you going to look for "new" motivation again, and if you let this goes on, this cycle is going to keep going until you run out and ultimately give up. Which is what happens to most people. The second problem that I see with relying on motivation is you are both mentally and physically limiting your capabilities. Your brain and body are like machines and as long as you getting the right nutrients and rest. YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE.
Motivation is just an excuse to limit yourself from achieving your dreams. Athletes, actors, millionaires, billionaires, and CEOs, don't have unlimited motivation. They have unlimited discipline, doing the things that they know they have to do even though they don't have the motivation to do it.
Your brain is like a car without fuel, literally unstoppable, and the moment you put gas into it aka motivation. The moment you rely on it.
I really hoped this helps
