The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18, NIV)
As we continue to look at Genesis 2, we see that the climax of creation is not productivity but Sabbath—holy rest in God’s finished work—and not isolation but covenant companionship, culminating in “one flesh” union without shame. This points forward to Jesus as the giver of true rest and the Bridegroom who restores communion with God and heals our hiding.
