Why Australia’s Defence Policy Isn’t Working S1 E1
Today on Ageless with Roz, we’re discussing one of the biggest questions facing Australia — how secure are we really? My guest, Dr Albert Palazzo, is a military historian and strategic analyst who has spent decades studying war, defence policy and national preparedness. His latest book, The Big Fix, challenges how Australia thinks about security in a rapidly changing world.
Albert Palazzo is one of Australia’s leading military historians and strategic thinkers on national security and defence policy.
He is an Adjunct Professor at UNSW Canberra and formerly served as Director of War Studies at the Australian Army Research Centre, where he educated senior Australian Army officers and contributed to the development of military doctrine and strategic thinking.
Dr Palazzo holds a PhD in military history from The Ohio State University and has spent decades analysing how nations prepare for war, manage risk, and respond to changing global threats.
His recent book: The Big Fix: Rebuilding Australia’s National Security argues that Australia must rethink long-held assumptions about defence, alliances, and national resilience in a rapidly changing world.
