On the podcast today, I’m expanding on the “getting quiet” theme from last week and how you can make smarter decisions by being an observer rather than a reactor. By doing this you take conscious and strategic actions (and sometimes you’ll see that you won’t need to take any actions at all) and you will get better results in your daily life that are more sustainable. I like to refer to this as your emotional intelligence!
Being the observer – non-reactive and tapping into your wisdom and intuition – instead of listening to the “story” going on in your head, is extremely valuable. I know if I react from a fearful or emotional place from the start, I’m not going to make the best decisions and do things I may even regret.
We think that we have to deal with things immediately… to fix the problem right away. But when we just observe and let things be, they’ll either fix themselves or the next step will be made very clear to us. My coach once told me “You’ll know what the next right move is, when there is an instruction manual that comes with it”.
Key takeaway: tap into your emotional intelligence (which is often a much more calm and clear space) rather than a reactionary and fearful space. INJOY!
