Speaker: Jeff Jarvis
The other day I was out in the backyard after mowing the lawn and Cathy came out and asked me why some patches of lawn that I had repaired weren’t growing back. For some reason, I got defensive and said something sarcastic. I looked over and could tell my words not only surprised her but hurt her, Instantly I felt regret. Later that night I found myself wondering “Why did I get so defensive about something so silly?”.
How often do you have moments of regret after saying or doing things? Have you noticed when they happen or what you felt in those moments? Are there patterns to your problem behaviour?
This Sunday we’re talking about the life-changing wisdom that can result from practicing curiosity around moments like these.
