Why Roswell is useful for a lisper? It allows you to install different implementations of Common Lisp, build script files and install lisp programs directly from GitHub!

With Roswell, you can easily install the version of Common Lisp you need, for example SBCL or Clozure CL. This is especially convenient when testing your software under different CL implementations.

Also Roswell knows how to automatically activate Quicklisp and run Emacs with SLIME or SLY configured.
