Why do I always have no petrol in my car and what the heck does it have to do with me being dyslexic ?!
There are two reasons why I often leave getting petrol to the last minute, and BOTH of them are down to my dyslexia.
The first is that good old friend time management. Whilst I am no longer late all the time, I often don’t allow enough time to get petrol when it is running low. I allow only enough time to get to the destination and not the 10 - 15 minutes etc that I would need to fill the tank.
The second is down to having no concept of distance, I have no idea how far 17, 7, or 2km’s is. So I think I have quite a lot of petrol to get me on my short journey.
Both of these are the way my brain processes information and my dyslexia!
