Why Do Older Women Date Younger Men? This is about responsibility, or it should be. A truly feminist approach asks us to protect younger people’s developmental space, emotional autonomy, and room to experiment without being shaped by someone with more life power, stability, or social leverage. Encouraging people of all genders to date closer to their own age isn’t moral panic, it’s an ethic of care. It recognizes that intimacy should be rooted in mutual growth, not asymmetry. Liberation isn’t about expanding who gets to participate in power-imbalanced dynamics; it’s about building cultures where connection doesn’t require them at all.
