First, we will set about looking at the nature of our relationship with God. He came that we would have abundant life and complete joy in Him. If that isn't happening, maybe we can see why and fix it. We will reveal the truth of the myth of "righteousness" and see that righteousness is not about rules and anger and rigid morality. It is about relationship, faithfulness, and JOY. James connects righteousness to making a friend. We'll look at the difference between the world's definition of righteousness and what the Bible says about it. James shows what the religion that God accepts looks like. We'll take a look at what that word, "religion," really means compared to how the world defines it and why the righteousness and religion that God loves is good for us because it is overflowing with joy in Him.
Finally, we'll look at the scripture of the sheep and the goats and see what Jesus is telling us about how He sees us and what gives Him joy in our relationship with Him. We'll give you a beautiful example of what happens when God takes a life of fear and turns it into a life of hope and promise, full of the joy of loving Jesus and living out the joy of being with Him.
