We all have our own reasons for going -- or not going -- to church. Two mountaintop scenes - Moses receiving the Ten Commandments (Exodus 24) and Jesus' transfiguration (Matthew 17) - demonstrate the same thing: An invitation to come up the mountain. God does not summon us into his presence, he instead invites us to meet with him, on the mountain. Upon accepting His invitation, God promises to give us rest from our burdens, and see Him as a living God in all His glory. When you walk into the church, do you believe you are entering into the presence of the Creator of the universe? When we respond to the invitation to come into the presence of God, His desire is simple: He wants to speak to us.
