Why Do You Think You Can’t

Listen Later

You know, something happened yesterday that made me think deeply.

I asked someone for a simple link — just a link — and she said, “I can’t.”

I paused. Then I asked, “If you can, why can’t I?”

And that question kept ringing in my head all night.

Why do we think we can’t?

I’ve come to realise that most of the time, it’s not because we can’t… it’s because we’ve convinced ourselves that we shouldn’t.

Sometimes it’s fear.

Sometimes it’s comparison.

And sometimes it’s that silent voice that keeps whispering, “You’re not good enough.”

But think about it — everyone you admire today once didn’t know how to start either.

They failed, they doubted themselves, but they still showed up.

I remember when I started doing things people said I couldn’t do.

Design. Writing. Speaking. Even showing my face online.

I didn’t know what I was doing at first, but I kept learning, failing, and growing.

And here I am — still learning, still growing.

So when I hear “I can’t,” I smile.

Because I know it’s not about strength or ability — it’s about mindset.

If she can, I can.

If he can, I can.

If they can, you can too.

So today, I want to leave you with this question:

What’s that thing you keep saying you can’t do?

Because maybe… just maybe… that’s the very thing you’re meant to do.
