The roots of the American Founding are found in part in the Scottish Enlightenment. The movenment stressed reason , exploration and  a true understanding of human nature.

Our founders understood that certain ideals were timeless and that government must adhere to a specific role if liberty was to survive. Modern progressives dismiss the idea of limited government and promote a living a breathing constitution that can change as society faces new problems. This is a recipe for tyranny.
