  • NOTES:

People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.

    Mark 10:13-14, 16

He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:13-14, 16

And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

    Mark 10:13-14, 16

Without remembrance we drift toward the trivial of everyday living, and forget what truly matters.

    Trivial leads to existing.

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

    Luke 22:19-20

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”

    Luke 22:19-20

For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said…

    1 Corinthians 11:23-26

“This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

“This cup is the new covenant between God and his people - an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.”

    Why should I

    take communion?

    Remember God’s unconditional love

    Remember God’s unselfish love
