This week Morgan and Katie are joined by Kyle Plant Emoji to talk about what life was like growing up as an Evangelical Christian, Veggietales, and his favorite Bible stories that conservatives interpret all wrong. Then they get into America’s non-profit industrial complex, biased philanthropic giving, and the need for churches to pay taxes. As it is now, church finances aren’t getting enough oversight and are ripe for abuse, and our government isn’t doing its job, leaving churches and other philanthropies to do the brunt of social-service work for our citizens.
