Why carry someone else’s burden? Why put others before yourself? Why choose service over self?

Because Christ did.

Romans 15:1–8 reminds us that the Christian life isn’t about pleasing ourselves—it’s about strengthening others, building them up, and following the example of Jesus. He didn’t come demanding to be served. He came serving.

The world asks, “What do I get out of this?” The gospel asks, “How can I help someone else?”

Patience. Encouragement. Unity. Grace.

These aren’t weaknesses. They’re marks of a life that looks like Christ.

So when serving gets hard, when loving people gets messy, when carrying burdens feels heavy, remember the answer to the question:

Why?

Because Jesus thought you were worth it.
