💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: Today's teachings from certain churches are often misguided, and some are utterly absurd, blending various philosophies with new-age concepts to create a distorted version of what they term progressive Christianity. Such teachings deeply troubled my spirit today as I tried to watch a video clip but found it so unsettling that I couldn't watch it in its entirety. The clip showed a well-known mega-church pastor who strays from traditional beliefs, yet he insists on promoting wealth by advocating the idea of giving "money seeds" to God in exchange for divine "blessings." This person, who should be contrite but appears unapologetic, still propagates the same erroneous doctrines he preached over two decades ago when I attended his church. He recently delivered a sermon in which he grossly mischaracterized God, told outright falsehoods about Him, and twisted the message of Galatians 6:7-8 to the point of being unrecognizable. The manipulation of this Scripture in this so-called sermon was shocking! He’s leading people to believe that God is not mocked because when you SOW money seed, you will REAP a financial harvest – unbelievable! Just totally misinterpreting that verse completely!
We will examine some of their deceptive teachings and extravagant claims of prosperity and good fortune, promising "financial and material blessings" from God to those in sin, based solely on their monetary contributions. These false teachers assert that if you are a "faithful tither/giver," God is obliged to bestow financial blessings upon you for your "seed." The lure of financial gain is constantly dangled before those who, unlike the Bereans, do not scrutinize their teachings against the Holy Scriptures. Many false preachers engage in this type of "preaching." It is vital to recognize that adhering to these false Bible teachers can lead to eternal ruin. Their goal, inspired by Satan, their leader, is to divert you from the Lord Jesus through apostasy. Their charismatic and convincing delivery, coupled with their misinterpretation of God's Word, has led many to fall prey to their heretical teachings without questioning their validity.
Beware of false teachers, for they:
(1) Teach false ideas to deceive people.
(2) Are ignorant of spiritual truth and arrogant.
(3) Add to or remove from Scripture to control others or to live as they want.
(4) Are predatory.
(5) Are involved in moral compromise.
(6) Claim to be anointed by God.
(7) Lead to chaos and division.
(8) Serve money, not God.
(9) Teach people to live in sin.
…And they will lead you right into the same ditch as them! Lord Jesus warned His listeners to "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves" (Matthew 7:15). We do well to heed His warning!
