“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” These were the words Jesus cried out as He died on the cross. Betrayed by one of His disciples and abandoned by the rest. Called a king by the crowds and then only a week later condemned by them as a criminal. Yet, being forsaken by God was what caused this great cry of agony. Why was Jesus forsaken by God on the cross?
