A construction industry Innovator and Educator, Dr. Hatcher was recognized by Atlanta Magazine as one of the city’s “Top 500” most powerful and influential leaders for two consecutive years. A graduate of Morehouse College, he received his MS and Ph.D. in Building Construction and Integrated Facilities Management from The Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Architecture, School of Building Construction. He is the first African American to receive the distinguished Doctor of Philosophy degree from the institute’s College of Architecture, School of Building Construction since its inception. Sovereign Construction has led and executed a wide range of commercial construction projects including historic restorations in cities like Atlanta and Charlotte.
