Growing up people always had something to say, from teachers to classmates to co-workers. Most were good compliments, but others were projecting. I was told to cover up a lot, and moving from a warm climate with sandy beaches to Minnesota at a young age was a difficult adjustment. I was slut shammed by people who never really understood why I "dress up".
