In many cultures around the world, the concept of having a BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND is not part of the DATING or COURTING process, however, in AMERICAN CULTURE it is common to commit to a person and to repeat this process in hopes of marrying one of your BOYFRIENDS/GIRLFRIENDS eventually.
