We discuss how the pursuit of viral moments has become the new drug of our society. We talk about people doing increasingly dangerous and absurd things—like throwing milk over their heads or jumping off moving trains—just to get views and engagement on social media. We explore how this obsession with the algorithm is replacing traditional addictions and how we've normalized sharing and laughing at dangerous behavior online. We examine how the dopamine hit from viral content has become the new addiction that could literally get somebody killed.
