What the Hell is My Brain Doing?

Why is change so hard?

Listen Later

So happy you are here my awesome people.

The days are getting shorter and colder- Fall is finally here for many of us!

Often times in the fall, we start to reflect on the year and plan potential changes.

Have you wondered why when we start to plan changes, sometimes our brain says “NO!?”

It’s because your brain is evolved to keep you safe and to our primal brain, “change” often meant “danger.”

See the brain intrinsically knows that change is unpredictable.

So that little voice in your head, that inner critic, pops out with those little sniping comments designed to keep you stuck.

“You can’t run a business, best not to try…”

“No one is gonna promote you, just stay where you are…”

“You’re not ready to be at that level…best to not rock the boat…”

These thoughts can create a lot of friction to our positive changes.

This friction can easily derail your plans for positive change.

In my 20 years of working with clients, I have seen this as an obstacle in many of my clients.

During that time, I have developed a formula that can help you overcome this inner critic and allow you to embrace change.

Can’t wait to share it with you today!

Today we chat about:

  • Why does the brain make change so hard?
  • How to recognize when your inner critic is intruding on your thoughts.
  • A simple formula you can use in real time to start combating that inner critic and regaining control of your power to change.
