r/paranormal Why is it so hard to catch paranormal activity on camera?

I've been fascinated by the paranormal for as long as I can remember. I am a believer of the paranormal and I just have one question that I would like to get others opinion on.

I am curious why others think why is it so hard to catch paranormal activity on camera? It seems to me that the spirits are actively trying to avoid detection. Why is this? I have seen a lot of online videos of the paranormal and 99% of those are at night / dark. Why is that? Why are some EVP's heard "live" during the ghost hunt while others can only be heard during the audio playback?

I am not trying to say that paranormal is not real in fact just the opposite. I believe it is I just want to know if anybody can shed some light on some questions that I have.
