1 Corinthians 14:1 says, "Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy." We must eagerly desire to partner with Holy Spirit’s primary obsession of helping us in the 1st commandment. It takes time to cultivate deep and consistent love for Jesus. It requires a heart focus that connects with Him. Prophecy can help propel people to pursue that 1st love connection with Him.
