"Bu-dum"

That isn't the beat of the drums applauding your joke, that's your heart. Hearts are probably one of the first things you drew as a kid, but we're pretty sure it didn't look like the actual heart (unless you were a good artist who studied human anatomy, which is pretty rare for a kid). So, why is the heart symbol drawn the way it is?
