The Fargo 3D Printing Show

Why Isn’t My 3D Printer Printing? | F3DPS Ep 2.07

Listen Later

We get a lot of questions as to why 3D printers aren't printing properly, so we went over a few of the most common causes that we've encountered.

In season one, we talked about "heat creep." Heat moves up the thermal barrier tube and can cause filament to expand. When it cools again, the filament can get stuck and become difficult to remove.

The orientation of cooling fans and heat sinks may not seem like a huge issue, but incorrectly install components can cause print failure.

Low quality/out of spec filament can contain foreign particles that clog the nozzle. If the filament isn't round enough or too big, it may not even get to the thermal barrier tube.
