The framers of our nation and those who endorsed the Constitution were well aware of ways that politics might sneak into the back door to steal elections. They had the history of Europe, the Papacy and the Kings to use as examples. They put into law the provision for a president to be elected under a variety of adverse circumstances. Tonight we will look at those circumstances and the provisions made by some very enlightened men some 218 years ago.
