If you follow me on social media then you may have saw my pledge for 2023, which is to only read books written by women of color. The purpose of this pledge was to highlight voices that have been suppressed and get insight from my fellow creators. One of the books I read this year was Kindred by Octavia Butler. It was one of my favorite books as a kid, and it is still one of my favorite stories. So when I found out that it had been adapted into a series, I was fired up!
