Injury prevention isn’t always a priority, even in the eyes of top athletes. I saw that with a gymnast I worked with who, despite the pain they were going through, didn’t want to cut into their practice time and go through physical therapy because they were scared they’d fall behind.
Why is that? Simply because there’s always another competition coming, and athletes are always more focused on that. Plus, a certain amount of pain and aching is just a part of life for people who practice sports!
However, we as physical therapists know that prevention will always be better than cure. We would rather help our patients keep their bodies healthy than heal them after a traumatic injury.
And because we know prevention is the better path, we want to market it as much as possible. But, marketing it on your website is not always a great idea.
Why is that? What should you do instead? And how can you still get prevention patients?
I answer all these questions and more in this week’s episode of Patients On Demand, so tune in and learn everything you need to know about the importance of prevention, how to market it right, and why you should focus your online endeavors on other issues!
