The problem is not that difficult to solve, if we stop lying to ourselves. The problem is not hate. Hate is an explanation from the perspective of the victim. It simply begs the question and yet in such a way that it prevents an answer. If we cannot blame the victim for the hate of the criminal, then we have no answer to the problem of mass shootings, at all. Hate only demonizes the criminal.
