In 2025 New York City elections, highlighting the historic victory of Zohran Mamdani, the city's first democratic socialist Muslim mayor. His progressive platform focuses on freezing rents for stabilized tenants and reforming public safety by creating a new Department of Community Safety. While incumbent Eric Adams defended his record on crime reduction and housing during his final months in office, the transition to the Mamdani administration has sparked debate over the future of the NYPD. We include City Council election results, campaign surveys, and detailed reports on fair housing initiatives and disability access. Collectively, we explor  a shifting political landscape defined by affordability crises and evolving approaches to urban governance.
