Using the Mind-Body Connection to Help You

Why People Repress Emotions

Listen Later

I am someone who has often repressed emotions. As a child, I would act like certain things didn't bother me. I shut down emotionally and would repress things. Now, Repressed is different than supressed. Suppressing an emotion is more of a conscious act than repressing.

Repression of an emotion is less conscious behavior and does not allow the emotion to be released. Letting go of emotions is very healthy, and I have begun practicing this simple act of checking in and allowing myself to discover the emotional release I need.

In today's talk, I will share personal stories about what types of people are more likely to repress emotions.

As always, I am not a certified health professional, and all this content is no substitute for professional help. I encourage you to use this information to help your path in understanding the mind-body connection.

And don't hesitate to get help on how to release repressed emotions. There are so many resources to help.

Blessings!
