Jesus teaches his disciples the importance of persistence in prayer. Why pray? They need prayer for their own benefit. But they also need to see God’s timing–which demonstrates his faithfulness, love, and justice. God answer persistent prayer, and in the meantime, we see more of who God is. He is merciful, faithful, and just.
