It’s easy to buy into the idea that progress should happen quickly. We’re constantly sold the belief that change happens in a few weeks, goals can be achieved by next month, or millions of dollars can be made by the end of the year. While there are certainly outliers that anybody and everybody can point to for support of these beliefs, you must remember that they are called outliers for a reason. The truth of the matter is, progress takes time. And in that time, it’s very likely you’ll have to go through some pain. Now, that doesn’t mean you’ll go through physical pain, per se (although, if you’re talking about exercise, that’s exactly what you’ll go through). For most people, most of the time, it’s the mental pain that we strive to avoid. And it’s that exact pain that we NEED if we’re going to make progress in anything. That’s the truth. Progress needs pain. It needs discomfort. It’s need effort. And it needs time. Progress doesn’t happen overnight. But it does happen…if you allow it to. That’s what we’ll be trying to figure out during this series… what we can do to move away from the belief that progress happens quickly and towards the belief that the effort is where the magic lies.In this episode (Part #2) we talk about:
The difference between deficiency needs and growth needs
How we’re trying to fill deficiency gaps with growth needs
Why abundance is making us overly sensitive to pain
How you can start shifting your mindset about hard work and effort
So much more…
