Many people assume Christianity is about trying harder to behave better. But what if that idea is actually the problem?
In this message from Part 5 of the Relief series, we examine a subtle but dangerous distortion of the gospel: moralism. It looks spiritual, sounds biblical, and even encourages good behavior. But underneath it all is a message that creates pressure instead of freedom.
The Bible reveals a critical distinction between law and grace. The law exposes our problem but cannot fix it. The gospel does something entirely different. Instead of modifying behavior, it transforms the heart.
We also explore the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, why the Ten Commandments are described as a “ministry of death,” and how the blood of Jesus establishes a completely new relationship with God.
When law and grace are mixed together, people live under guilt, pressure, and confusion. But when the gospel is understood clearly, something changes.
You realize that you are no longer trying to earn a place with God.
