Why The Nativity? - Part 4: Why Call Him Savior?

How do you describe the greatness of the Lord Jesus? Jesus is the name of the Lord's personality, and Immanuel is the name of His proximity to us. But Savior! Oh that name! That is the name of the Lord's earthly mission. "Then the angel said to them, ' Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord'" Luke 2:10-11
